Agriculture in the Classroom
Agriculture-in-the-Classroom is a fundamental part of Farm Bureau's education efforts to share the story of agriculture's important role in our daily lives. Thousands of teachers, students and parents are affected each year by the outreach of this program.
In Livingston County, this effort is coordinated through the Livingston County Agricultural Partnership, consisting of Livingston County's Farm Bureau, Soil and Water Conservation District and University of Illinois Extension.
The objectives and goals of the Partnership are:
- To organize and coordinate countywide ag literacy programs with agriculture & education entities and others, as well as promoted a unified agriculture message.T
- To provide training opportunities for teachers, administrators, guidance counselors and others to ensure that our children learn the true value of the total agriculture industry.
- To provide learning opportunities for student to ensure that our children learn the true value of the total agriculture industry.
- To provide learning opportunities for the general population to ensure that society understands the importance of the agriculture industry.
- To coordinate the production of promotional activities with the county to educate society about the agriculture industry and the countywide coalition.
