2011 LCFB/ELITE and HOERNER SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION

Livingston County Farm Bureau Foundation College Scholarships to be awarded:
• Livingston County Farm Bureau Elite Scholarship (in recognition of Rosie Duffy’s exemplary volunteerism) - one $2,000
• Ethel K. Hoerner Scholarships – up to $1,500

SCHOLARSHIP GUIDELINES - MUST USE THIS YEAR’S FORM

1)  The applicant must be a member or a dependent of a member in good standing with Livingston County Farm Bureau.

2)  The applicant must be a resident or a dependent of a resident of Livingston County or a graduate of a high school in Livingston County and a United States citizen.

3) The applicant must be a student entering the third semester or beyond, of college and accepted for enrollment or enrolled at an accredited college or university. (LCFB Foundation Elite Scholarship –fifth semester or beyond.)

4) Scholarships are  only available to those students scheduled to be enrolled in an undergraduate program for the next school year, and are limited to no more than a total of 4 (four) LCFB/Hoerner or Elite Scholarships per individual.

5)  Selection will be based on composite grade of academics, school involvement, church and community activities, community and industry service, financial need, and other pertinent factors.

6)  Limit your comments to COLLEGE activities and accomplishments.

7)  Applicants may only be awarded LCFB Foundation Elite (formerly Naylor) Scholarship once.

8)  Qualified students must complete an application and return it to the Farm Bureau Foundation office at 901 W. Howard St., P.O. Box 410, Pontiac, IL 61764, no later than 4:30 p.m. on February 28, 2012.

9)  Applications will be reviewed by the Farm Bureau Foundation Selection Committee which will make final selection.  Personal interviews may be required.

10)  Applicants must demonstrate a strong interest and intention of entering a career in agriculture or a closely related field.

11) The applicant’s character, reputation, and personal life, as evidenced by references, or by inquiry, will be of high quality, reflecting a high likelihood of success in their academic pursuits.

12)  Scholarship check will be mailed to the student following evidence of enrollment for the following semester.

13) Applicants must include with their application a minimum of two letters of recommendation from individuals not related to the applicant.
